Tosin, A Portrait

I went to NYC this past weekend to take some portraits of my brother Tosin to commemorate his birthday. Tosin picked a location on 15th and 6th avenue that had a nice background he really liked. He wanted natural portraits which weren’t posed, so I had to be quick to capture the moment because it’s usually hard to duplicate it. After completing the shoot for that location and getting lunch, we concluded the photo shoot at his apartment in nyc. The images came out quite good. You can view the images from the shoot here.

Christine, A Portrait

I went to Flood Hill in South Orange to take pictures of Christine. Christine and I met at Essex County College about 20 years ago while students at the college. I hadn’t seen her in 7 years. It was great to see her again looking radiant and as youthful as ever. It was a fun shoot as she took direction well and made it easier for me. Here are some images from it. You can view the rest of the images here. Have a great day!

KST Productions – Hush No More

I was hired to document KST Productions “Hush No More” event. It was a monologue by several actors that spoke about their experiences with heartache, pain, love and happiness. I am honored that I was trusted to document it. Things didn’t start off on the right foot though because I found out on the day of the event that the venue was changed, so all my plans for the venue and lighting was out the window. The location that the event eventually took place was the NCC community gym at 56 Hayes Street. The gym had fluorescent lighting, and the stage lights weren’t the most appealing, but I made do. I had my assistant Matt assist me with setting up the lights for the red carpet and other things. I set up one light for the stage. this was my first time using the Yongnuo wireless speedlight triggers and receivers for an event, and I highly recommend them. The event went off with out a hitch, and I got some really nice images. Here are 5 images from the event. Please enjoy.

Matthew, Portraits

I needed to test my new softbox using my speedlight and high speed sync flash photography, so I asked my nephew if he would be my test subject. He agreed, so we took a ride down to Flood hill in South Orange. I ended up  not being able to use the softbox because it was very windy and I had no assistants to hold the stand to prevent it from tipping it over. I used the flash by either holding it in my hand or placing it on the ground. Here are some images from the shoot. Posing clients is my weakness, but I’ve been learning and practicing how to pose my clients to get more portrait gigs.

Nachele, A portrait

I’m trying to build my portfolio with new updated portraits. I called a friend and she recommended that I take pictures of her sister; I agreed and we decided this morning that we would meet at Flood hill park at 10:00 am. It was too cold outside when we met at 10:45 am and she had to leave for work at 12:00 pm, so we decided to shoot at her house. We didn’t start the shoot until 11:30 am. It was rushed, but we did the best we could do under the circumstances. Here is one of the images I took this morning. I hope you like. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
